Drug Program
Q:
What is it?
A: The Trillium Drug Program (TDP) provides benefits
for prescription drugs when drug costs exceed a certain
amount of a household's income. The Program is not meants
to replace private insurance plans or other Ontario Drug
Benefit Programs.
Enrolment in the TDP is based on a "household".
A household is a single person or two or more people who
live together and dependent on each other financially. Before
you household can received TDP drug benefits, you must spend
a certain amount on prescription drugs (called the "deductible").
The deductible is based on the number of people in your
household and their combined net incomes.
Q: Who should apply?
A: you should apply to TDP if:
- You
spend a large part of your income on prescription drugs;
- You
do not have a private insurance plan that covers prescription
drugs, or you have a private insurance plan, but it
dose not cover all the costs of your prescription drugs;
- You
have valid Ontario Health Card

How to apply?
A: You application form for the TDP is available inside
the TDP package. You should complete the application after
reading this Guide.
Once you have reviewed and completed the application form,
have all household members 16 years or over provide two signatures
in Section 4. Send all necessary documents: financial documentation,
prescription drug receipts and private insurance documentation.
Complete and return this application as soon as possible.
Applications delivered or postmarked after the deadline date
will not be accepted.
